The Corn Exchange, in Leeds city centre, is one of the city’s most recognisable buildings. Designed by Cuthbert Brodrick, it has been a focal point since it was built back in 1864. We’ve worked on many restoration projects here over the years.
Recently we were on site to carry out cleaning works to the entrance steps. The DOFF super-heated steam system, used here, is ideal for listed properties, like The Corn Exchange, due to its high temperature and low-pressure cleaning, which is kind to the stonework being cleaned.
As you can see the DOFF cleaning method makes quite a difference to the surface of the stone, removing moss and dirt, but without damaging the stone beneath.
